Anthrax Dedica una cancion a Judas Priest

Anthrax ha escrito una nueva canción dedicada a Judas Priest para el 'Worship Music ". El baterista Charlie Benante explicó que los veteranos thrash quieren mostrar su respeto por grupo de Rob Halford, que se pondran  en marcha su gira mundial final en junio.

"Hay una canción que se llama" Judas Priest "- “-quizá cambie- pero nos gusta el título porque Judas Priest ha decidido separarse y será un último ‘hurra’ para ellos. Queríamos dedicarles la canción.”", dijo a la revista Rolling Stone.

Benante también confirmó que el cantante Joey Belladonna permanecerá con Ántrax después de reunirse con ellos durante su gira de verano del año pasado.

“Cuando continuamos trabajando de nuevo en este disco con Joey, la primera canción que cantó, al oírla, nos entraron escalofríos. Sonaba, de nuevo, como Anthrax - era ‘ese’ sonido de nuevo.

 

Judas Priest se retira y anuncia su ultima gira mundial

La banda inglesa de Heavy Metal, Judas Priest, anunció esta mañana que realizará el último tour mundial de su carrera, poniendo fin a una historia de 40 años de metal.

Mediante un comunicado en su página oficial señalaron que “Luego de estremecer al mundo por cerca de 40 años, y llevar su especial sello heavy metal a las 4 esquinas del planeta, Judas Priest -una de las bandas de heavy metal más influyentes de todos los tiempos-, ha anunciado que éste será su último tour mundial”.

“Si embargo, el poderoso Priest sin duda se irá con fuerza al momento en que rockean al planeta, comenzando en 2011”.

Judas ya quedó inscrita en la historia del rock pesado, como una de las primeras bandas de heavy metal británico con reconocimiento a nivel mundial, dejándonos su legado con 78 millones de álbumes alrededor del mundo y grandes temas como Breaking The Law, Pain Killer y Electric Eye. El Epitaph tour como lo han llamado a su ultimo tour  el cual comenzará en Europa en 2011. Por el momento han confirmado su presencia en los siguientes festivales europeos:

• 9 de junio: Sweden Rock Festival, Suecia
• 11 de junio: Sauna Festival, Finlandia
• 17 de junio: Copenhell Festival, Copenhague, Dinamarca
• 19 de junio: Hellfest, Nantes, Francia
• 22 de junio: Gods of Metal Festival, Milán, Italia
• 25 de junio: Graspop Festival, Bélgica
• 23 de julio: High Voltage Festival, Londres, Reino Unido
• 5 de agosto: Wacken Festival, Alemania

Tras la publicación de Nostradamus el verano de 2008, la banda no ha vuelto a publicar material nuevo y no parece que tenga intención de lanzar una última obra. Sería un buen colofón retirarse con un trabajo discográfico, pero quizá no tengan ni la necesidad ni las ganas de hacerlo (16 discos de estudio, 5 en directo y 4 recopilatorios parecen suficientes).
Además, queda en el aire si sus miembros dirán adiós también a sus respectivas carreras musicales o si se embarcarán en proyectos alternos
